Le Mont Ventoux - Eté comme hiver un lieu à part
By bike, on foot or by car, there's no one right way to tackle it, but only those who set off early will be able to tame it. While hikers follow the old shepherds' paths, preserved for seven centuries under the canopy of oaks and pines that reforest the slopes of the Ventoux, cyclists rub shoulders with car drivers as they accelerate along the tarmac line that spreads its dark silhouette over the limestone whiteness of the peeled mountain. But climbing Mont Ventoux is not the only sporting experience on offer: halfway up, Mont Serein offers pony and horse riding, electric scooters and Dévalkart descents, as well as accrobranche (tree climbing) and bungee trampolines; there's plenty of choice for all the family to enjoy during an afternoon in the mountains. Finally, winter arrives and, as the wind changes, the limestone disappears under the snow, the grey turns to white; hikers switch to snowshoes and, to take advantage of the annual reopening of the resort, the descent of Mont is made on skis. Although it doesn't change its appearance throughout the year, true to its pale profile, Mont Ventoux likes to play chameleon, adapting to the seasons to offer ever more sporting opportunities to discover on a solo or family getaway.
